Dr. Alisa Lewis is a licensed clinical social worker based in Washington, DC. Her practice includes individual psychotherapy for adults and children, couples counseling, and supervision. Her philosophy is based on the premise that all people have inner strength and that therapy can assist by tapping into this natural resource. Dr. Lewis received her undergraduate degree at the University of California at Santa Cruz, her master's degree in Social Work at New York University, and her PhD from the Clinical Social Work Institute in 2008. Her previous posts were held with the Whitman Walker Clinic, Regional Addiction Prevention, Inc, and Edmund Burke School. Dr. Lewis has a full time private practice in Washington, DC. She works with clients who experience anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, grief/loss, relationship and intimacy issues, work and school problems, diversity issues, and low self-esteem.
